After a while away, the Snipe Gallery website is back!

The forums, however, have been moved to the Sourceforge forums . We were having such a miserable time trying to keep on top of the spammers that it just wasn't worth it. We tried everything - moderating users, moderating posts - it just became too much upkeep as we were getting dozens of new posts a day, with perhaps one legitimate question or comment in the mix.Hopefully moving them over to Sourceforge will keep out some of the riff-raff.

 We will probably be doing a code rewrite at some point soon (summer 2008, perhaps), switching over to an OOP structure. The gallery has been around for a while now - the site first went online in February of 2004.  We've had a lot of time to learn what our users want, how they use the gallery and what should come next. It will remain simple - that was the whole point of writing our own gallery in the first place instead of using one of the larger, well known gallery systems out there - but there are some additonal features we'd like to see implemented, and some code streamlining is sorely overdue.

 So anyway, check back, or make sure you're on the announcement mailing list for snipe gallery at Sourceforge - we'll announce new releases and other important news there.
